Unlock the Future of Civic Education: Join Us for the Premier Social Studies Teachers’ Conference in Washington!

Are you ready to elevate your teaching and inspire the next generation of informed citizens? Now more than even students need to know how to debate, interact, and discuss with their peers with respect and an open mind.  Don’t miss the WSCSS Fall Conference, where social studies educators from across the state will gather to sharpen their skills and deepen their knowledge!

Sessions will address the conference theme of "Civil Discourse in the Classroom: Cultivating Respectful Dialogue." As educators, fostering an environment where civil discourse thrives is more important than ever, especially in light of the upcoming election season.

You’ll be able to enjoy a catered box lunch while listening to our keynote speaker; King County Elections Director Julie Wise. A champion for increasing both accessibility and security, Julie is dedicated to removing barriers to voting, while maintaining accuracy, security, and transparency. She has been a vocal advocate for expanding language access and has expanded voter outreach and education through the Voter Education Fund. Additionally, Julie’s push for prepaid postage in King County led to statewide action resulting in prepaid postage for all Washington voters in 2018.

Dive into 15+ dynamic sessions designed to equip you with the tools to navigate and discuss controversial issues with confidence and clarity. Our conference will empower you to prepare your students for the upcoming election and beyond.
