[WSCSS] Holocaust Writing/Art Contest & Programs in Tri-Cities

The Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center would like to
remind you of several opportunities:  

Community Program: Stories from a Holocaust Survivor - Frieda S.
Thursday, March 18, 2010.  7:00pm - 9:00pm.  Benton City (Tri-Cities area).
Free and open to the public! At Kiona-Benton City High School.

In 1943, at the age of 14, Frieda was deported to Theresienstadt, a
concentration camp in her native country of Czechoslovakia, because she was
a "mischling" - half Jewish. Frieda's mother was not Jewish, but her father
was.

Creating Change: Teaching about the Holocaust and Genocide
Friday, March 19, 2010.  8:30am - 3:30pm.  Benton City (Tri-Cities area).
At Kiona-Benton City High School. $20.  Clock hours available. Sessions
include: Overview of the Holocaust, Rescue and Resistance, Camps and
Ghettos, Teaching about Genocide, and a special presentation from a
Holocaust survivor.  Information and to register: www.wsherc.org/programs. 

Also - Holocaust Writing and Art Contest!
Open to students in grades 5-12. Submissions now being accepted! Details -
