The Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center is offering the
following workshops for educators:

 

Oct. 10 -

"Connecting the Lessons of the Past to the Present: Teaching about the
Holocaust."  11:00am.

Oct. 21 -  <http://www.wsherc.org/programs> Becoming Evil: How Ordinary
People Commit Genocide and Mass Killing
Dr. James Waller, Seattle University. 7:00pm-9:00pm. 
Author of Becoming Evil: How Ordinary People Commit Genocide and Mass
Killing. Geared towards educators with some background in teaching the
Holocaust, but open to anyone. Clock hours available! Registration required.
$10 suggested Donation. $10 Clock hour fee.  

Nov. 19 - <http://www.wsherc.org/PDF/Tacoma_11-19-09.pdf>  Holocaust &
Humanity: A Workshop for Educators 
At the Washington State History Museum, Tacoma. 4:30 - 7:30pm.
A workshop focusing on providing teachers with a background for teaching the
Holocaust effectively. Workshop will include master teachers presenting best
practices for the classroom. Topics include: "Pivotal Moments,"
"Propaganda," and "Rescue & Resistance." Clock hours available! $20
registration fee.

June 24 - July 4, 2010 -  <http://www.wsherc.org/programs> STUDY TRIP -
STORIES FROM THE TRUNK: BUDAPEST & PRAGUE
 <http://www.museumwithoutwalls.org> Museum Without Walls and the Holocaust
Center present a fresh look at the past with a rich 10-day journey to
Budapest and Prague.
<http://www.wsherc.org/center/survivorstories/FriedaS.aspx> Frieda S., a
survivor of Theresienstadt and born Czechoslovakia, will be traveling with
the group and will share her personal stories. Frieda is a member of the
Holocaust Center's Speakers Bureau.
