The Washington State Historical Society is delighted to announce that we
have a brand new issue of COLUMBIAKids now posted for you and your kids'
reading (and playing) pleasure. You'll find it in the middle of our home
page, www.washingtonhistory.org or directly at:
http://columbia.washingtonhistory.org/kids/Spring2009/default.aspx.

We're thrilled to be able to include a story by Newbery Award Honor
winner Kirby Larson, and illustrations by Richard Jesse Watson of Port
Townsend. We also have other exciting stories about Northwesterners such
as sculptor Dudley Carver and a junior Iditarod musher, as well as our
first-ever rebus for very young readers and a Ghosts of the Great Hall
ghostly reappearance of the popular Miss L. Peckinpaugh who sang a boat
load of women and children to safety.

Many thanks to all our contributors and the COLUMBIAKids Team for a
fantastic issue! Please feel free to pass the link along to everyone you
know. J

Happy reading,

Gwen
