Facing the Future would like you to join us on Monday, May 11th from 5:00 to

latest textbook:

Real World Math: Engaging Students through Global Issues

All teachers attending this event will receive a complimentary copy of the
Real
<http://www.facingthefuture.org/Home/CurriculumDetails/tabid/131/Default.asp
x?ItemID=RWM> World Math teacher's guide. The 15 lessons, data sets,
problems and supplemental materials on foundational algebra and geometry
build mathematics knowledge along with the important skills of critical
thinking, collaboration, and global perspective. Classroom activities, real
world data sets, topical readings, and action project resources engage
students in contextual math around issues like climate change, financial
literacy, and global health.

A short program will begin at 5:45p.m. Light refreshments and snacks will
be provided. For questions about the event and to RSVP by May 4th, email
Sheeba Jacob at sheeba at facingthefuture.org or call 206-264-1503. Please
feel free to invite other teachers.
