Hello WSCSS teachers!

Please note that a special "stimulus package" is now being offered for educators interested in learning more about our neighbor to the north. This workshop (see details below and at www.k12studycanada.org/scsi.asp<http://www.k12studycanada.org/scsi.asp>) guarantees a minimum of $150 to WA State educators for receipted travel to/from Vancouver as participants in the 31st Annual STUDY CANADA Summer Institute for K-12 Educators.

STUDY CANADA is an excellent program that offers 40 WA-State issued clock hours or 3 undergraduate quarter credits as part of the $550 cost of registration in the 6-day program at the end of June. Although there are currently registrants from many states across the USA (and even one from Australia!) greater attendance by teachers from the Pacific Northwest is being sought and the May 1 deadline is fast approaching. Several leaders from the National Council for the Social Studies have attended the program and can attest to the value of this often overlooked aspect of K-12 curriculum.

Contact tina.storer at wwu.edu<mailto:tina.storer at wwu.edu> ASAP if you would like further details and/or to reserve your spot!
