Wonderful Washington Teachers,
I thought you might be interested in some resources from the National
Archives for Constitution Day on September 17th, just in case you
didn't know already.
There is a great new exhibit that includes the Charters of Freedom, an
article about the history and impact of the Charters, a great article on
the Founding Fathers, wonderful artwork, and a place where your students
can sign the Declaration of Independence at
http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/charters.html
Also, there is are two Constitution Day lesson plans at
http://www.archives.gov/education/lessons/revolution-new-nation.html
as well as one about the electoral college, just in case the discussion
leads to the current election.
Have a great Constitution Day! Carol
