2008 STUDY CANADA Summer Institute for K-12 Educators (C/AM 410 - Western
Washington University) - "STUDY CANADA" is a 3 quarter credit/40 clock hour
professional development course being held in Vancouver and Whistler, BC
(June 22-27, 2008) that provides teachers with an excellent foundation for
teaching about our northern neighbor. For the past thirty years, teachers
from across the country have attended this renowned program (subtitled
Experience BC from the 5 Themes of Geography to the 2010 Olympics) and it
will assist Washington State educators develop curriculum as we and the
world get ready for the 2010 Winter Olympics.  The course explores "hot
topics from a not-so-cold country" and offers cultural learning experiences
that are not available through regular tourism. The $550 registration cost
includes tuition/clock hours, instruction, 5 nights hotel accomodation and
breakfasts, course activities and round trip transportation between
