Wonderful Washington Teachers
Last Call !
We still have a couple of slots open for the National Archives and
Records Administration Summer Institute "Primarily Teaching" (Aug 18
through 22 from 8:45 to 4:15 daily). Come learn to access and use
primary sources in your classroom! Speakers are from NARA, the
University of Washington, the Washington State Archives, and the Museum
of History and Industry.
We are offering 16.5 clock hours @ $33 through Puget Sound ESD.
3 Graduate Credit hours (in Education or History) are also available
through George Mason University in Virginia ($800 out of state
tuition).
There is a $100 registration fee for the institute ... however,
scholarships are available to cover the entire registration fee (and
perhaps a small stipend). You will receive scholarships some time after
the close of the event. The registration fee covers a continental
breakfast daily, 3 lunches, $20 in free copies, and all institute
materials.
Let us know that you are interested by Friday, Aug 15 by e-mail at
carol.buswell at nara.gov . Applications are online at
http://www.archives.gov/education/primarily-teaching/overview.html .
All applications and registration fees must be received by Monday
morning, Aug 18th at 8:45 AM.
