Colonial Dames History/Social Studies Teacher Scholarships
We are extending the deadline for teacher scholarship applications to March
20th. Applications will be accepted by email together with reference
letters to save time.

Any Washington state history/social studies teacher in grades 5-12 is
eligible to apply for one or more of the Colonial Dames scholarships.
Funding is available for the purchase of classroom materials such as books,
videos, DVD¹s, curriculum development, historical research, historical
costumes, and travel and tuition for teacher workshops, seminars, and
conferences within Washington state and outside the state. Advanced History
Placement courses and studies toward National Board certification have also
received Colonial Dames funding.
Examples of funding include scholarships to cover travel and tuition to
Colonial Williamsburg; the National Social Studies Conference; the Freedom
Foundation at Valley Forge; American Revolution history courses at
Washington state colleges and universities; Heritage Institute classes on
American and Washington state history; the Landmarks of American history
workshops sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities; and the
Monticello-Stratford Summer Seminar on Revolutionary America. Requests for
funding other American history seminars and conference are welcome.
